Sevenoaks was host to its first "celebrity guest" - Dancing with the Stars celebrity Laila Ali stayed with us whilst filming her latest project "Student Body" for Nickleodeon.
“Seven Oaks literally served as my home away from home. While filming Student Body, I lived here for three weeks. Not only are the rooms and the natural surroundings amazing, but so are Leon and Amanda. Amanda’s experience as a nanny has served her well, as she took tremendous care of me. And Leon ’s experience in hotel management has left no stone unturned. I wish I could bring them, and their adorable dog, back with me to Los Angeles ! But, since that’s not possible, I look forward to returning to my ‘home’ on Lake Geneva .”

In 1607, one of Amanda’s ancestors, Captain Bartholomew Gosnold - (who had earlier discovered and named Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard) sailed to America with John Smith and others to establish the first permanent English Colony in America at Jamestown.
Now, 400 years later, Amanda and Leon Lavallin have come from Hertfordshire, England to develop SevenOaks in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, with a vision of offering B & B-like hospitality in a format where all guests have their own private suite.
Captain Gosnold could not possibly have imagined the America of today, the eight hour flight from England, nor the amenities and activities to be found in and around SevenOaks in Lake Geneva.
